For some reason, I wasn't very excited about this year's trip to the zoo. I think burnout was getting to me and it didn't sound like very much fun. Then, it was going to be raining and it really didn't sound like fun. However, when you go on a cloudy day and it actually doesn't rain you get to have the whole place to yourself. The animals were very active and right up next to the fences showing off for the kids. We also got to do a little classroom visit where they let us pet a snake, chicken, and turtle. The biggest downer of the day was when we learned the playground was closed. It might be even more fun than the zoo for the kids and the biggest plus is that it wears them out to near exhaustion. Bummer for all parties involved.
